After working with Jordan Academy for Maritime Studies to set up their own learning management system (LMS), and after knowing my experience in web design, they contacted me to build a new website for the Academy that reflects the nature of work and the various educational and training services provided by the Academy and helps improve their presence on the virtual world.
After several meetings at the project kick off, we agreed on the features and prototypes of the design. The project consisted of two major phases; backend & frontend.
I needed to create nine custom post types, such as education programs, education courses, training programs, training courses, staff, announcements, news, media galleries and events. Each of the mentioned post types represents a single functionality, custom users capabilities, custom fields and design templates.
The website built with two languages (English & Arabic), has 10 different headers, has more than 100 different design templates and blocks and about 12 different contact forms.
After-design features such as security, caching, optimizing, customer chat and analytics have been implemented too.
Finally, I used my authoring tool (Articulate) – I can’t help it – to design six educational pathways for the different departments of JAMS and two scenario based courses to help new students choose the most suitable program for them at the Academy.
